Enhancing the Postgraduate Research Student Experience with LinkedIn Learning
UCC Graduate Attributes Programme, in collaboration with the Graduate Studies Office and UCC Career Services are offering UCC PG Research students unlimited access to LinkedIn Learning until September 2023.
Strategic alignment: Research and Innovation
1.3. Increase PhD enrolment numbers, enhance the research student experience, and embed research and innovation into our curriculum: iv. Enhance the experience of PhD students…tracked and informed by the Research Administration Project… embedded and aligned with our Graduate Attributes Programme.
2.4. iii. Ensure support and recognition for informal learning…and skills development to enable lifelong, life-wide, and life-deep opportunities for learning and engagement to provide a high-quality university experience as students transition in, through and out of UCC.
is an online educational platform that helps students to discover and develop core employability as well as technical skills through expert-led course videos.
With more than 16,000 courses and personalized recommendations, they can discover, complete, and track courses related to their field of study and interests.
²ÝÁñÉçÇø are available on the following topics and will support PhD students in developing core skills in line with the IUA PGR Candidate Skills Matrix:
- Research skills
- Entrepreneurship and Innovation
- Ethics and Social Understanding
- Team working and leadership
- Communication
- Personal effectiveness and transferable skills
Students can add these courses and related skills to their LinkedIn profile once they completed them. Participants also receive a Certificate of Completion.
Why participate?
Through engaging with this offering will, Postgraduate Research Students will:
- Enhance their employability.
- Develop core skills that will support their research and future career.
- Have the skills to create and maintain a LinkedIn Profile.
- Be able to effectively articulate their personal and professional development.
- Be supported in their development of graduate attributes and values.
Students will gain access to customized learning playlists to support their personal and professional development as a researcher. In addition, UCC Career Services professionals will deliver optional in-person sessions to guide and supplement learning.
Licenses will be issued on a first come first served basis.
Postgraduate Research Students can cto express their interest in obtaining a LinkedIn Learning license. They will have access to the platform until September 2023.
