On May 6th-7th, UCC will host a symposium by leading historians on patterns of historical thought and practice in nineteenth century Ireland, looking at views on Pre-history, Medical History, Art History, the Reformation and Counter-Reformation, Civil Wars and Cromwellian confiscations, Edmund Spenser and Gaelic Chiefs.
In his keynote lecture on May 7th at 2pm, Boole II Lecture Theatre, Tom Bartlett, University of Aberdeen will discuss 鈥淗ow to write a history of Ireland in 45 minutes鈥.
Among the speakers on May 7th are Peter Woodman, Clare O鈥橦alloran, UCC; Jim McGeachie, University of Ulster, Brian Jackson, UCD and Alan Ford, University of Nottingham. For full programme see
