Boole engineers the X-Factor
The 'I’m an Engineer... Get me out of here!' competition, which runs from 2-13 February 2015, has announced a Boole Zone.
As UCC celebrates 200 years since the birth of the first Professor of Mathematics, George Boole, this competition will remember his legacy in a profession that is heavily based in his algebraic formulas with the This is a free online event where school students meet and interact with engineers. The X Factor-style competition allows the students be the judges as the engineers are put through their paces.
Students challenge the engineers over fast-paced online live chats. They can ask the engineers anything they want, and vote for their favourite engineer to win a prize of €500 to communicate their work with the public.
The competition is open to engineers as well as all secondary schools (all school places now full). Engineers can register . Resource packs are also available for and , so feel free to sign up.
